All three accused of murder in police custody

The police have achieved a major success in the case of the shooting death of AIMIM state secretary cum former Gopalganj assembly by-election candidate Abdul Salam alias Aslam Mukhiya. Based on the application given by the family members, the police have registered an FIR against seven people in this case. The police took immediate action and arrested three named accused in the murder within 48 hours. While continuous raids are going on in search of four absconding accused. The three arrested accused are Firoz Alam, Mohammad Addu and Mohammad Shakur, residents of Takiya Yakub village of Nagar police station area.
Gopalganj SP Swarna Prabhat said that the bike used in the murder was stolen by criminals from Beur police station area of Patna. The sharpshooters committed the murder and then fled towards the border district Siwan. SP said that CCTV footage is being sought from the place where the bike was stolen. The three arrested accused have been sent to jail. The SP further said that the shooters are being identified and raids are underway to arrest them.
According to the information, on February 12 at 9 pm, two criminals riding a bike shot dead Abdul Salam alias Aslam Mukhiya, the secretary of Madrasa Islamia, near Turkahan bridge. Abdul was a resident of Takiya Yakub village of Salam Nagar police station area and was the state secretary of Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM party.
The deceased AIMIM leader had also contested the by-election from Gopalganj assembly seat and came third. The SP has provided security to the son of the deceased after this murder. After the incident, the police are investigating each and every point and keeping an eye on the activities. SP said that this murder is not political, this murder was done due to mutual rivalry.
